My research interests lie in synthetic biology of microbial systems, with particular emphasis on development of synthetic microbes that perform programmable biological functions for engineering applications. In line with this emphasis, the group's current projects involve reprogramming of microbes for infection treatment, functional probiotic development, and biochemical production.

My current research focuses on developing probiotic cells to tackle various health issues such as cancer. This includes engineering enzymes to increase the enzymatic turnover and survivability under various conditions, as well as screening for other methods to target and alleviate these ailments. Non-scientific interest includes swimming, working out in the gym, stage play, painting and reading.
